Puerto Rico 2013 - Leaving San Juan

We're home now. Dale and I got ourselves to the airport yesterday and I had some empanadas at an airport restaurant before leaving. The server recommended the ones with beef. They were great.

Puerto Rico Trip 2013 - Final Morning: Coffee on the Balcony

We woke up to a cloudy morning and Dale told me we got a little bit of rain over night. Dale went to the lobby and got coffee which we drank on the balcony. This Island is beautiful even when it's cloudy.

Puerto Rico Trip 2013 - Dinner at Aguaviva

The ceviche was amazing. We had both the mahi and the shrimp. Dale had the salmon for dinner and I had the seared shrimp. For dessert we split the coffee creme brûlée. It was all so wonderful it almost brought tears to my eyes.

The buildings in Old San Juan look very old world. The narrow streets and cobblestone add to the charm.

After the Cigar House we took a walking tour up to the capitol building. It's a beautiful building and it faces the Atlantic. It's also just a stone's throw from the old fort.

Dale and I cabbed it to the old city around 4:00 p.m. Our first stop was The Cigar House which had been recommended to me by my friend, Steve.

Puerto Rico Trip 2013 - Another Lunch at Miro

Such was Dale's enthusiasm for the niscoise salad he had yesterday, we returned to Miro for more. I ordered it too today and it really was everything Dale said it would be. Now I know what all of the fuss was about.

Puerto Rico Trip 2013 - More Fun at the Beach

Dale and I have pretty quickly fallen into a pattern. We awoke this morning and had coffee on the balcony. The hotel has some really good corn muffins and I had one of those just like yesterday. After a quick walk on the beach we got ready for spending some more time layin' out. The cabana guy pitched an umbrella for us, got us a couple chairs and a table, and we laid about for a few hours. Paradise.

More yummy stuff at another place across from the Marriott. This restaurant was Italian-themed. Dale had the puttanesca and I had the seafood linguine.
