Walk Along Ashford

The Marriott is located on Ashford. We took a long walk up the avenue all the way to Playacita Condado. We saw a lot of hotels and little shops. We also saw a lot of bad driving.

Puerto Rico Trip 2013 - At the Beach

On the beach now in front of the San Juan Marriott. A cabana guy set up an umbrella and the brought us a couple of beach chairs and a little table. I'm listening to Robbie Williams on my iPod (specifically The 80s, The 90s, and Summertime from Rudebox). Dale is reading a book and looking very relaxed. I texted Mom a few hours ago with some photos of me and Dale on the beach. She just texted back: "I am so jealous!!! Enjoy the beauty and the warmth...it is still cold here."

A cabana guy came to take drink orders. Dale didn't want anything but I told him I'd take a margarita.

Puerto Rico Trip 2013 - Blue Skies Beckon

Woke up this morning to what you see in the above photo. Dale and I went to the lobby to get coffee and muffins and then came back to the room with with them and sat on the balcony for an hour just looking at the ocean waves in the distance. Officially the hotel calls this a partial view of the ocean. I'm not sure why. Maybe because the palm trees get in the way. Anyway, I about as far from dissatisfied as you can get when it comes to this view.

After coffee, Dale and I took a walk on the beach. Paradise.

Puerto Rico Trip 2013 - San Juan Marriott

Took a cab to the hotel and made it here just before 10 p.m. Our room is fantastic. We have a balcony that faces the pool and there are palm trees in the pool's courtyard. Just beyond the pool we can see the ocean. I'm looking so forward to seeing it in the daylight tomorrow morning!
