Arizona Trip July 2026 - Day 5, Part 5: Cigar Time

 Friday, July 10, 2026

Cigar after a long and fun day.

Li'l Bit's been keeping herself pretty scarce although a couple days ago she started to show her cute little face.

This is the closest she's gotten to me thus far.

G'nite...

Arizona Trip July 2026 - Day 2, Part 4: Finishing Out the Day

 Tuesday, July 7, 2026

Dale and I headed over to see Brenda and Irv this afternoon for a happy hour visit.

So good to see them.

We had chicken thighs for dinner when we got home and I had a cigar by the pool after that. Very warm and pleasant this evening.

Home by the 4 o'clock hour and had a cigar lit up to celebrate by 5.

Arizona Trip April 2026 - Day 8 Part 1: One More Night

 Monday, April 20, 2026

On the road after breakfast.

Got into Kansas City in the afternoon.
After getting settled into the hotel we headed straight for the tiki bar.
Kon Tiki turned out to be quite a wonderful place. Jacob, our bartender, and Kayla, our server, were both wonderful.
Dale got some beer and I started out with the Pain Killer. Very well made. Not syrupy and not oversweet.
We got a couple appetizers: brussels sprouts and deep fried shrimp.

For round 2 Dale got some white wine and I got the Mai Tai. Also VERY well made.

For dinner Dale got the grilled platter and I had the stir fry.
For dessert I got the Cafe Lani which was a nonalcoholic drink made up of Cafe Corazon blend coffee, Coco Lopez, and coconut water. Very satisfying.
The service was fantastic and very friendly. Our servers told us a new chef had been hired recently who revamped the whole menu. The food, by the way, was out of this world. The new chef actually stopped out to say hello to us. We let him know how much we loved the food. The decor of the place was fabulous. However, the music was not great although not terrible either. Instead of surf or exotica they played a kind of over-commercial sounding smooth jazz. It was all unShazam-able so I couldn't even find out what it was. That was the only thing I could find to bitch about. I'll still give the place an overall A+. We had such a great time.

Brenda and Irv were over for dinner with us tonight. Lovely to spend some time with them as always. Had a cigar later in the evening.

Arizona Trip April 2026 - Day 2

Wasn't the best night of sleep last night but it wasn't the worst either. Got up and drank coffee in the hot tub with John. After that I sat in the sun for a while.

Dale and I took a walk this morning and then after that we headed over to Brenda and Irv's to pick up the car they're giving us. Had a nice visit before Dale and I headed out to get some lunch.

Ended up eating at the Peoria Artisan Brewery which we just discovered for the first time.

I ordered an Old Fashioned which was quite good. Dale got some wine and we both got macaroni and cheese. I got mine with crispy chicken and Dale got his with bacon. This was seriously the best mac and cheese I've ever had.

Pool time with John this afternoon and then we had pizza from the club for dinner.

Phoenix Jan/Feb 2024 - Friday

Friday, February 2, 2024

Hot tub this morning.

Not as warm today. Windy too.

Dale and I took a nice walk near the dog park.

I love the desert.

Especially the saguaros.

This is one of the more unique ones we've seen. I've never seen one that looks quite so wavy.

Headed into the city for the happy hour at Hula's Modern Tiki.

Tiki drinks are only $8.00 each during happy hour. Pictured is the Blood Orange Martini. Not over sweet and the blood oranges provide a nice sharpness which gives it a great bite. Dale had wine.

Had the Crispy Fish Bites as an appetizer. So delicious.

For dinner we each had Caesar salads. Dale got his with tuna but I had mine with shrimp. Again, delicious.

Lit up a stogie upon arriving back at home. Had a little Knob Creek with it.

In bed by 10:00!
