Mazatlan 2016 - Day 1: More Mega

Monday, March 28, 2016

More Mega. Love good mole sauce. Not sure how I feel about the lack of pre-packaging but no doubt this is the REAL deal.

Mazatlan 2016 - Day 1: Mexican Baked Goods

Monday, March 28, 2016

All the baked goods we've picked up in Mexico have been fantastic. They and never over-sweet and don't leave a filmy aftertaste in your mouth. I'm guessing they're preservative free as they aren't quite as excellent when they are over a day old. Picked up the pig cookie for a snack. Delicious. Dale and I both got the chocolate cupcake for dessert tonight. Also delicious.

Mazatlan 2016 - Day 1: Cocktail Time

Mazatlan 2016 - Day 1: Cigar Time

Dale made an amazing dinner of salmon and asparagus. Finished the day with a cigar in the hot tub. What an awesome first day of vacation.

Mazatlan 2016 - Day 3: Early Start

Wednesday, March 30, 2016

7:00 a.m.  Great night sleep. Woke up around 5 a.m. but considering I went to bed at 8:30 last night I'd say I did pretty well. Very cloudy this morning. I hope the sun burns it all away. We've never experienced clouds all day down here.

Mazatlan 2016 - Day 3: Cloudy Day

Wednesday March 30, 2016

9:30 a.m.  Nope, the sun didn't burn the clouds away. I took a beach walk anyway. It turned out alright. For one thing, it was cooler so I was able to last a little longer and walk a little further. For another, there was no glare so I walked awhile without my sunglasses which, despite the lack of sun, made it seem brighter. Also, I found the shell of some type of odd looking sea urchin (see below).

I'm sitting by the pool as I write this and looking at the ocean and a ship on the distant horizon. It's so nice to let my mind wander and not feel like I'm procrastinating.

Mazatlan 2016 - Day 3: Early to Later Afternoon

Wednesday, March 30, 2016

Lunch at La Paloma here at EDM.  We shared some ceviche and then I had the coconut shrimp while Dale had the club sandwich.

Afternoon beach walk with Dale. Cloudy but no matter. It's just lovely to be here. The sun started to peek out as we made it home from our walk.

Mazatlan 2016 - Day 3: Winding Down

Wednesday, March 30, 2016

Cocktails on the balcony. The sun decided to come fully out just as it set. Gorgeous. We made burritos with whole beans and cheddar cheese for dinner. Dale made stir fried asparagus to go with it. It was all so simple yet all so delicious.
