Spring Break 2023 - Day 2: Undertow

This evening we made it to Undertow's new location in Gilbert, Arizona. Dianne set this up a while back and we've been looking forward to it. 

Our seating was set for 3:30 and we arrived just in time. Dianne, Dale, and I met John's son Pete at the restaurant. Pete lives only a few blocks from the bar. He's been quite excited to go for a while. I guess the Gilbert location been's open for about a year and he's been waiting for us to come out to visit before checking it out himself which is very sweet. Photos are my own.

Got a good night's sleep. Ready to hit the hot tub this morning.

Excited to see that the cactus flower bloomed. That was quicker than I expected.

Dale and I took a nice walk on a trail near John and Diane's.

Great day today. John made Mai Tais for cocktail hour. For dinner he made salmon and romaine lettuce on the grill. Delicious. 

Took the above photo of the cactus flower around 7 p.m. I'm sure it's gonna flower tomorrow. 

Spring Break 2023 - Day 1: Settling In

Arrived at Dianne and John's shortly before 9 a.m. and proceeded to settle in. Brenda and Irv came over just before noon. So good to see everyone! Went to the country club for lunch. 

So wonderful to enjoy the blue sky and direct sun. 

One of Dianne's cactuses has a flower on the way. Looks like it's going to bloom quite soon and I'm excited we're going to be around to see it. I took the above photo shorty after we arrived here this morning. 

Spring Break 2023 - Day 1: Flying to Phoenix

Early flight. Dale and I got up at 3 a.m.

I love having a window seat. 

I watched Bullet Train which was a.really wild ride. Quite violent but a lot of fun.

Really excited to get to Phoenix. 

Wasn't sure as late as when I woke up this mornin if we'd actually made it.

Wasn't sure when I woke up this mornin if we'd actually make it as I had a nasty stomach bug yesterday which kept me lying down most of the day.

However I woke up feeling much better which was quite the relief as I didn't want to miss this trip. Work has been so stressful lately (yes, much more than usual) so I really need the break.
