California 2016 - Beach Flower

California 2015 - Beach Walk

Gorgeous day for February. Even for Half Moon Bay, I think.

California 2016 - The Ocean

Sunday, February 14, 2016

Came home and laid low for a while. Later Warren and I walked down to the ocean. I guess they've had some really bad storms recently and a lot of the beach front was lost to erosion. Never-the-less, it was still beautiful to see the ocean.

Scott and Milton had a new addition to their family since last year. Sonny's sister Kira has been with them for about 8 months.

California 2016 - Leaving

Monday, February 15, 2016

Up and at 'em by eight a.m.  Scott, Warren, and I left Half Moon Bay for the San Jose airport at 9:15  a.m. after I said goodbye to Milton. Stopped for a latte and banana bread on the way. Made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare. Said goodbye to Scott and Warren and made my flight without incident.

I told both of them that I'm not sure how I'm going to make it 6 weeks until Mazatlan now that I've experienced such lovely weather. Prior to this trip 6 weeks seemed manageable. Now I don't think I can wait!

California 2016 - Odds and Ends

Other notable events this trip:

1. Warren has a favorite coffee shop called Divine Grind. The owners are a man and woman from Nigeria. Warren always speaks very fondly of them  We stopped during my visit last year but they were not in. This year I met the wife, Winnie. She's a lovely woman.

2.  Milton made an effort to greet me and talk to me upon my arrival Friday. This is notable because I think he is one of the most introverted people I've ever met. Last year, as this year, he'd join the three of us for dinner and watch whatever movie we were watching for as long as his dinner lasted. However, he'd usually retreat upon finishing to work on a model or do some gaming. Anyway, he tried to spend a good 10 minutes with me after I arrived to see how my flight was and how I was doing. For someone as extremely withdrawn as he is I found this to be significant. I find him very liable and also quite sincere in his own quiet way.

3.  My return flight from San Jose had a connecting flight to meet in LA. At LAX I boarded the plane but we didn't leave until an hour and 15 minutes later than we were supposed to due to air conditioning and fueling issues.
Just before landing in LA.
